So here is my debut of Black★Gold Saw, worn to AnimeFest 2010!!! This costume was pretty basic in terms of clothing, though I had some issues with the pleather I used for the shorts and bikini top... I kind of messed up the top and almost didn't have enough fabric to redo it XD;;; But it turned out okay, thank goodness! The horns were... interesting to figure out: I made them out of Crayola Model Magic and spraypainted them. Underneath my wig is a bailing-wire headband with two spikes, and basically I just stabbed the horns onto the spikes to hold them.
I really love this costume... I'm not sure if it's the horns, the jacket, or the boots, or just everything about it. But I really adore it - the jacket fits super well and when I walk, it billows out ominously behind me. The black+red color scheme is also something I love *__*
The pose looks a little awkward from this angle, but... hey... that's just what holding a sword looks like from the front~ XD;
I understand that this shot doesn't show off the costume very well, so I will upload a full-body shot sometime soon.
And yes... le gasp... I cosplayed a girl for once... O.O So far I only have 2 female cosplays! XD;;;
Uh... hmm... I used to be sewing-disabled once too, and all I can really say is practice, practice, practice. Without practice, any project is a nightmare, but sewing definitely gets easier as you go on. I also recommend using a simple pattern to start out with - just buy a cheap pattern for something fun (a skirt or sleeveless shirt), and practice with that. :3
wich was the other female cosplay ? o3o
The other female cosplay is Yoko from Gurren Lagann... but I'm almost afraid of posting the pictures XD;;;;;
Have any tips for the sewing disabled?
And thank you! ^^
